New Website Launched

Hazelwood College is proud to launch its latest version of the school website www.hazelc.ie.

Over the past couple of years the number of visitors to the website using touch screen and mobile devices has greatly increased. In recent months this number has exceeded at times over 50% of visitors. So the time came to completely rewrite the website to accommodate these visitors.

The new website is fully responsive, meaning it adjusts itself to suit the size of the screen the visitor is using and also whether the device is touch screen enabled or not. It contains over 1000 pages of information about the school and school life, this record is further enhanced by over 4000 images and videos. Many of the information pages about the school such as Subject Information have been completely rewritten with incoming parents in mind. Analysis of the types of visitors to the old site showed a greater need for this type of information. Readership of these pages greatly increased around the times of enrolment. Prospective parents should now have a greater level of understanding of academic life in the college than before. Online enrolment for academic year beginning September 2016 is now open through the Quick Links section on the website.

The new site also brings on board the ever increasing rise of social media. All posts to the site will stream live to the schools new Facebook and Twitter accounts, making it easier for Parents and Students keep up to date with school news. Audio from the music department can be found on the schools Soundcloud page, and in the coming months the schools Youtube channel will start to broadcast. You can like/follow our Facebook page through the school website or keep up to date on the latest news by following our Twitter Feed.
