BEHIND THE SCENES AT HAZELWOOD COLLEGE

The best thing I like about Hazelwood College is working in the shop. The school has a shop which is run by the students, mainly transition year, provides finance for school trips and outings. I like this because you experience what it’s like to be responsible. It prepares you for work in the real world.
I have only been going to Hazelwood College for 3months so far as I transferred schools but I have made lots of new friends and everyone is so friendly.
I am in transition year and I am really enjoying it. We are doing PE courses in UL, work experience, inviting guest speakers for talks on many different professions.

It’s a great school and I’m lovin’ it!!

The best thing I like in Hazelwood College is that it is a really friendly school. I like going into the practical rooms and working on projects like woodwork, Metalwork, art and technical graphics. All this makes time fly when I am in school. I like having to have the responsibilities to run the shop with the rest of my transition year and I like going out on trips with the rest of my year as we have so much fun.

The best thing about Hazelwood college is the people around are very friendly .also I like the sports facilities hear the hurling is very well looked after .also the teachers hear are very friendly and we get along very well. The new school has everything that we need new science room and wood work and metal work rooms have everything that we need.

The best thing about transition year is working in the shop. It is very exciting with all the rush at lunch time. Also we get to go out on trips all the time and we get to do things that we will never get to do again in any other year.

The principal and vice principal are very nice and hardly give out to us.

Also the best thing in the transition year program is the work experience. It is very good and it gives us a look at how it is like in the world of work.

It transition we have a good crack and the people in my class are the most friendly people around.

The things I missed this year were the practical subjects which I really liked and missed over the year.

After all the year was a good laugh and it gave us time to set ell down after the Junior cert and to think about what we would like to do after school.

The best thing about Hazelwood college is the Art class it is Brilliant the teacher is a lovely person and Transition years this year are entering the form fusion were you have to make a costume out of recyclable and you have to model it.

Also the principle and vice principle are lovely people to meet and how try there best to keep the school moving and keep the good name.
The people also in this school are very friendly and easy to get on with and the first years have settled in very well this year.

The best thing about school is the friends and the craic that you have with them. No matter how bad the day has been you will nearly always have a laugh at break time with them.
School will give you the best memories of your life or so I’m told but I suppose some part of that statement is true. You will also have bad memories but you have to take the good with the bad.
School gives you the opportunity to learn some new things like first aid and learning new skills. You also get the chance to partake in different activities like team sports, chess, debating and many more.

The memories of bring in school with my friends are some of my best because even though there were some hard times my friends were always there to help me through them.
Transition year is a great experience because it gives you a chance to do things that you normally wouldn’t do in school as well as preparing you for the leaving cert and the hard times that follow.
The sports at the school are great and we have some excellent coaches. Who have made the team good enough to win the Munster Championships over the last few years.

LIKES: I like moonlit walks on the beaches. Of course I’ve never taken a moonlit walk on he beach, but shur how bad. I like Friday evenings and, complaining that it’s not Friday evening.

The best thing about being in Hazelwood College is the people in Transition Year. I didn’t know a lot of them before I started this year and they are all sound and gas craic.
Of course Dan mowing the lawn definitely comes in a close second.
At this point, I should really give the teachers a mention, seeing as they do come in every day, and even when I’ve gone on and am making a lot of money, they will still be coming in, every day, forever and ever. Good luck with that.
