Hazelwood College Soccer Sensations

Recently, Hazelwood College’s U19 Boys soccer team, coached by Mr Dan Sheahan, played against Killorglin Community School in Broadford soccer pitch. Sean Madigan scored the first goal for the Hazelwood, only 2 minutes into the already heated and tense game. This gave a great boost to the Hazelwood team. Sean Madigan scored yet another goal 33 minutes into the game. This was followed by another goal from Cameron O’Flynn. Killorglin fought back and scored two goals in the 43rd and 44th minute of the game. After half time Killorglin scored in the 69th minute of the game. The Hazelwood team were losing by a mere goal and at this stage in the game anyone could win. Hazelwood made the game level from a penalty scored by Andy Quaid. The game went into overtime and the tense, nail biting match was won by an own goal from Killorglin’s goalkeeper.
