Hazelwood College Concern Debate team launched their 2011-12campaign with success against Mercy Mounthawk, Tralee on Thursday, November 10th.The team, Claire Fehin (Captain), Sarah O’Flynn, Emma Lynch and Declan Stack,opposed the motion “Irish youth are doing their fair share to end hunger andpoverty in the developing world” successfully in a tight debate against a moreexperienced Kerry side. The team, all Transition Year pupils at HazelwoodCollege, have made a great start at debating since taking it up in September,supervised by Mr. O’Connor and Mr. McCormack.
