HAZELWOOD COLLEGE SCOOPS TWO AWARDS AT ESAT BT YOUNG SCIENTIST COMPETITION

It has been an extremely busy few weeks for the science students of Hazelwood College with an impressive four projects qualifying for this years ESAT BT Young Scientist competition. The school was delighted to scoop two awards when this years results were announced. Celia Cremin, Liz Cremin and Maura Flanagan were presented with a highly commended award for their project on bacterial diversity on frequently used objects in the school. Michael Byrnes and Sean C Donegan were also honoured for their work on the effects that various probiotic supplements have on cholesterol levels. Both awards were presented in the Junior Group of the Biological and Ecological category.
