Tip Top Table Tennis at Hazelwood College

Recently, Hazelwood College’s table tennis team visited Scoil Pól Secondary School in Kilfinane for a two day follow up table tennis course. This was after Hazelwood College had hosted a previous course under the tuition of Owen Kelly and his daughter Mel Kelly, who represents Ireland in international table tennis competitions.

In the course of the first day of the course, hosted at Hazelwood College, student had been taught to serve and to knock their opponents out. During the second day of the course, in Scoil Pól, students were taught the various grips for holding the bat. This would allow students to play to their opponent’s weaker side.
