1st Year Soccer

Our 1st yr boys soccer team with TY helpers who played a tough league game against Mungret CC today in TUS Limerick and who unfortunately came out the wrong side of a 2-1 scoreline. A great team effort, well done boys!!

Man of the Match

Well done Robbie and the Munster team. A tough game today vs Connacht in windy conditions finished 0-0 with both teams having some great chances. A 2-0 win over Ulster, 2-2 draw with Leinster and today’s draw with Connacht was enough to see Munster retain their School’s Interpro title from last year. A great performance by team captain Robbie saw him take the player of the match award today.

Interpro Soccer

Best of luck to Robbie Lynch who has been representing Hazelwood College in the FAI Schools Interprovincial Tournament this weekend. Robbie also has had the honour of being selected as captain of the Munster team this year. Today’s final game is against Connacht. Munster go into this game topping the table having drawn 2-2 to Leinster on Friday night and beating Ulster 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.

U15 Soccer

Hazelwood College U-15 Soccer team who today progressed to the final of the North Munster League. Despite how sunny the photo looks, tough weather conditions quickly changed the game in Adare, turning it into a battle between a well organised Croom team and the elements. Final score was Hazelwood College 4, Colaiste Chiarain Croom 0.

Best of Luck

The very best of luck to TY student and our U15 Soccer team mentor Robbie Lynch who has been invited to Blackburn Rovers for trials this week. Wonderful news for Robbie and his family!!

Munster Soccer

Congratulations to Robbie Lynch on his selection to the 2022 Munster Schools Interprovincial Squad.

It is a fantastic achievement to have been selected.

Over the past month Robbie has attended a number of trials and trails games across the province. A huge number of players across Munster put their names forward for inclusion but only 16 players were selected. As Robbie is a year younger than the target age it highlights how big an achievement it is for Robbie to have been selected.

The Munster squad will play in the FAI Schools Interprovincial Tournament over the weekend. The tournament consists of 16 players from each of the 4 province’s competiting against each other over three days.

Best of luck to Robbie and the Munster squad.

Munster Cup Soccer

Well done to the first years today in the Munster Cup. A great intense game was played by both teams. Everyone played superb and left it all on the pitch. After going down to an early goal and under intense pressure in the first half, we managed to get back to 1-1 at half time. Final score on the day Hazelwood College 3 – CBS Tralee 1. The first years progress now to the quarter finals of the Cup
