A lovely evening celebrating the Class of 2022 who graduated this evening, finishing with the announcement of this years Student of the Year- Kenny Lynch. His teachers speaking highly of his pleasant manner, leadership qualities, positive attitude , maturity and being a good man to get a job done. The award was enhanced by the members of the Credit Union who presented Kenny with a cheque for €500. Congratulations Kenny . Ukraine Donations

Goods donated by the Hazelwood school community, staff and friends of Dromcollogher Respite Centre and Broadford Primary school are loaded up with Cunningham Transport. The are headed to a sorting centre in Dublin before being distributed to areas where they are then sent to the areas of Poland and Ukraine where they are must needed. Thank you to all who made the collection a success

Seachtain na Gaeilge

Bhí Seachtain na Gaeilge den chéad scoth againn i mbliana. Rinneamar céilí, tráth na gceist, comórtas póstaeir agus cluichí éagsúla sna ranganna. Chuaigh ardleibhéal 5 Bliain go dtí an phictiúrlann freisin! Míle buíochas ó na múinteoirí go léir, bhí na daltaí go hiontach.

We had an excellent Seachtain na Gaeilge this year. We did a céilí, quiz, poster competition and various games in the classrooms. Honours 5th yrs went to the cinema also! Huge thank you from all the teachers, the students were brilliant.

World Boy Day

Well done to the students who embraced World Book Day 2022 and dressed as their favourite characters. Congratulations to the winners Jack Gardner, Jack Downes, Leah Enright and Robert Galvin

3rd Year Options 2022

Normally at this time of year we would meet with all the 3rd year students and their parents to discuss the next steps in their educational progress. Unfortunately this year due to the ongoing pandemic it is not possible to meet in the usual way.

Below you will find a video outlining the options available to 3rd years as they progress to Senior Cycle.

Mr Burke will be in touch with the parents of the 3rd year classes in the coming days to outline the steps that need to be taken to select a course for Senior Cycle

School Closure Update

In line with the instruction issued today by the Department of Education, Hazelwood College will be closed tomorrow Wednesday 8th December.

The timetable for the week will be amended as follows to facilitate the ongoing Christmas Exams. All Tuesday’s scheduled timetabled classes for TY and LCA, exams for years 1, 2, & 5, block classes for 3rd and 6th year will now take place on Thursday. Wednesday’s timetable will now take place on Friday.
