North Munster Soccer

The u15’s won 3-0 in the first game of the double header. The u17’s won 2-1 in the 2nd game. Unusually both games dramatically ended with a penalty scored by Hazelwood as the last kick of the game. Christmas Message

Wishing all of our school community a happy and a peaceful message. We would love to share this lovely Christmas message penned by our talented Ms Davis ! Artwork by Ella Dowling, 1st year
Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse
Yet all through the house the WiFi did reach
And lit up their faces on one gadget each!
The teenagers faces aglow from their screens
Were scrolling their iphones’ nativity scenes
Only fingers were moving second by second
As online treats flashed up and many more beckoned.
And others watched films whilst their tablets they gripped,
While from a can red bull was silently sipped.
Others gripped handsets, pressed buttons with speed
Fighting a battle in Assassin’s Creed.
The young ones played Fifa and dreamed up a team
Whilst baubles and trinkets around them did gleam
Yet the tree stood alone, decorations ignored
While the fairy atop looked lonely and bored.
The presents lay silently wrapped up in bows
But still they held miniature screens to their nose!
The Christmas crib figures, in festive tableau
Outdone by the devices ‘ flickering glow.
The wise Kings said sadly “But we’ve come from afar,
All because angels said follow a star!”
The Sugar Plum Fairy said “Why do I bother,
If people can’t even look up at each other”
And Santa says, nodding, “I know what you’re saying,
I’ve spent the last 24 hours sleighing!”
But Santa as always had just the answer
And whispered his thoughts to Rudolph and Prancer..
That night when they landed on every roof
The WiFi connection was stamped with a hoof!
And inside those faces all looked up in fear
And slowly remembered the day of the year.
Looking around them, and blaming the weather,
Ditching their gadgets, spent Christmas together!
